2022: The biggest year yet for World Sports Photography Awards. Over 7,000 images featuring more than 30 different sports. And we are joined by MPB our new headline sponsor. Global media coverage from some of the world’s biggest publications from the BBC to Vice, My Modern Met to Bored Panda.
2021 Mid-Covid Pandemic. Sports might have slowed down but we didn’t want to stop celebrating brilliant sports photography. Photographers were able to submit their favourite frames from the past 25 years producing a stunning selection of images.
2020 was the inaugural year of the awards. Our first categories focussed on the energy and emotions of sport and the ways the photographers were able to capture them. The awards immediately gained traction with international media and the sports photography community.
